Christmas In July

Hello.

Just a quick one....Not really a  quick one.  I have been making tags for the last two days.  I ran across this bag when I cleaned out my desk a few weeks ago.  It was a class at a local scrapbook store.  The store has  since closed but I made some great friends through the store.

When I ran across the bag, I thought it would be great for my countdown to Christmas boxes.  So I cut a bunch of them and I have spent the last two days making tags.  I think I have 17 tags in each bag.  Mine has more, I thought I would make extras for myself and hopefully I won't run out when I start wrapping Christmas presents.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Penny's Challenges - Christmas In July
Tuesday Throwdown - Christmas In July
Dies R Us - Christmas In July
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes #43

Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Sketch #310

Cut It Up

Hello and good afternoon.  I am late posting this.  I made the card a couple of days ago and then forgot all about posting it. I went to use my camera today and the memory card was still in the camera.  I knew right away that I hadn't posted the card.  I am so sorry.

It is time for another Cut It Up challenge.  The theme, this time, is numbers.  You need a number some where on the card.  Plus don't forget to use a die some where.  Every one on the design team did a great job.  There is such a wide variety.  I had trouble with this one.  My first thought was to make a graduation card for next year, but I didn't really want to make a card that far away.  Then I looked at my calendar and a dear friend has a birthday this weekend.  I knew it would be great for making her a card.  Her favorite color is purple so even though I don't make many purple cards, I put this one together for her.

The challenge is sponsored by One Happy Cut.  They have an amazing selection of dies.  Please stop by and check out their selection.  The winner will get a $15 gift certificate.

I can wait to see all of the entries.  I hope to see you there.

Patriotic

Hello.  My husband is working a late shift tonight, so I may have a late night and spend some time in my craft room.

I started this card a couple of days ago.  I thought my sister and I will get a change to make a couple of them.  She has been busy, so I finished them today.

The flag is from Our Daily Bread.  I have had it a couple of years.  It makes a great card.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Creative Card Crew - Flags/Banners
Artistic Inspiration - Anything Goes #136
Connie Can Crop - Red, White & Blue
3 Girls Jam - Anything Goes

Christmas In July

Hello.    I did a lot of cleaning yesterday, so I am hoping for more playtime today.  But I do need to run some errands.

When I saw the challenge over at ABC Christmas, I just knew I was going to make some Christmas gift tags.  I never have enough.  I usually have to stop in the middle of my gift wrapping to make more tags.  Maybe I will use some of these Christmas in July challenges and make some more.  Plus I would like to make a bunch for the ladies at work.  They love my cards and things and I thought it would be great to give them a box/envelope full of different gift tags.

These tags were suppose to have a little paper ribbon on the bottom, but I wanted to stamp a short message so they now have a Merry Christmas on the bottom.  I loved the ribbon.  The big multi ribbons used to be really popular but not so much any more.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
ABC Christmas - Not a Card
Crafty Gals - Christmas in July
Pile It On - Christmas in July
613 Ave Create - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything  Goes

Well I am off to run some errands.  See you later this afternoon.

Hot enough for Ice Cream

Hello again.  Today was a hot humid day.  The perfect day for ice cream.

I just can't eat this card.  The colors are bright but I used the colors from the ice cream cone.  Mint, butterscotch and strawberry.  What a combination.  The stamp is from Impression Obsession.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.  I have been trying to use some of my older stamps.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Die Cuttin Divas - Ice Cream
   Wags N Whiskers - Birthdays
   Curtain Call - Celebrate
   Marker Pop - Summertime
Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

I don't know if I will be back or not.  If not, chat with you tomorrow.

Birthday

Hello.  I need to make this quick before I miss the challenge.

I have been wanting to cut this card for several weeks.  I decided to get it off my list today.  I had a Whimsie Doodle girl colored to go on the front but she was just too big.  I put her on the inside instead.   The sentiment on the front is from Stampin' Up.  The card itself is from Bird's Cards.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Craftin Desert Divas - Birthdays
Sugar Pea Designs - Color Challenges
Fab N Funky - Flower Delights

Taking a Break

Hello.  I won't be around as much today.  I am working tonight and I don't know if I will get on afterwards.

This morning, I decided to work on something besides Christmas.  I still have few more Bugaboo challenges but I am going to wait a little while.  Back to summer.  I love all of the little girls at Whimsie Doodles.  I use this one every summer.  And I almost always put her in a pink bathing suit.  I really need to do something different.  Next time.

I was trying to keep the  card simple so I just added a shell embossed corner.  I had forgotten I had this texture folder.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   CAS on Sunday - Embossing
Crafting When You Can - Summer Fun
Glitter N Sparkle - Summer Sunshine
   Cupcake Inspiration - Colors

Christmas still

Hello again.  Another quick one.  This is Day 3 of Bugaboo's Christmas in July challenges.  I don't know how many more of these, I will get done.

I have never used burlap before so this is a first.  It is hard to see in the picture but I cut the top of the glass out twice and gave it a 3d look.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Christmas in July Day 3
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes #42

Bugaboo Bears

Hello.  How is your week going?

There are several reasons I like Bugaboo images.  One is their elephants, Peaches and Edward are just too cute.  I  am close to have the whole set.  I can't wait for them to design some more.  (In fact, I hope there will be a Christmas one this year.  Or even a football one.)  The second one is the bears,  They have the cutest bears.  There are other reason, but these two come to mind first.

While look through their blog, I saw several cards made with the skater bears.  Too cute.  I went looking for them.  They come in a set.  I knew I would be using at least one in the Christmas in July Daily challenge  When I saw the sketch, I thought of the sitter skater, but when I pulled the set, I decided to use the circle bear.

The small rectangle is made using my Color Box Chalk Popcorn Ink pad and the Stampin Up Sizzix Poinsettia texture folder.  I wish the background had been whiter but It does make the poinsettia pop.
After putting the card together, I added some glitter.  It just need to shine.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes #270
Simon Says Monday - Anything Goes
   Wednesday's Inspiration - Let's Colour
Catch The Bug - Christmas In July Day 2
Sparkle N Sprinkle - Anything Goes

Chat with you a little later.  I am off to clean the bathrooms (oh, fun!)

Christmas In July again

Hello.  Normally, I don't do the Christmas in July challenges.  I don't want any thing to do with Christmas this year.  This year, for some unknown reason, I have been making cards for the challenges.  Tonight and tomorrow, I am going to work on the week long Christmas in July challenges at Bugaboo (Catch The Bug).

This is Day 1.  Jingle All The Way.  I just love this Christmas bells.  I saw them colored in blue and I loved them, but I decided on red.  Growing up, we always had red Christmas bells that lite up.  I wish we still had those bells.  I added glitter and used the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I changed the direction of the challenge and I hope I got every thing it needed.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Day 1 Jingle All The Way
   Sketch Saturday - Sketch # 369
Lawnscaping Challenges - Sparkle & Shine
613 Ave Create - Anything Goes

Off to make another one of these.  I don't know if I will be back tonight or not.

Christmas in July

Hello and happy Wednesday.  I hope every one is having a great day.  It was nice and sunny here.  A great day for being outside.  In fact, I am heading out for a walk in about an hour.

My sister and I had to make another shaker card.  She picked a Christmas one.  We used the same card base as yesterday from SVG Cutting Files.  Then we made our shaker bag using our new fuse tool.  I can't tell you how easy it is to make a shaker card now.

Stars and Stripes

Hello on a wet and rainy Monday.  Instead of weeding the flower beds, I am spending some time in my craft room.  I should be cleaning but maybe later.

I still needed to do some patriotic cards so I decided to do another trio card.  I just love them.  I used my polka dot texture folder on the middle rocket just to make it a little different.  I also added the ribbon at the bottom.  I thought it needed something.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Dies R Us - Stars & Stripes
   Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes #235

   Digitally Sweet - Anything Goes

We all scream for Ice Cream

Hello.  Just a quick one today.  I came home from work extremely tired, so there will only be one card tonight.

Ice Cream is a favorite around my house.  I have an electric ice cream maker and we make ice cream several times a week.  I have several ice cream cutting files in my Silhouette folder.  This one by Miss Kate's Cuttables is one of them.  It was so easy to cut and then just  layer the ice cream and cherry.  So much fun.

I will be using it in the following challenges:
   Crafty Sentiments - Sweet
   Die Cuttin Divas - Sketch
   CASology - Repeat
Loves Rubber Stamps - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Better On The Beach

Hello again.  Well, this isn't a shaker card.  Maybe tomorrow.  My sister isn't able to get online tonight so we are going to do something tomorrow after I get off work.  In the meantime, I grabbed another printed image off my desk.

I cut this several weeks ago to make a center step card and never did.  Today, I made the card.  The image and sentiment is from From The Heart.  It is the Sea Turtle Beach set.  Putting the sentiment on the bottom really filled out the space for the image.  I was originally think I would accent with green, but the peach/orange looks so good with the paper.  The digital paper is once again from Happy Heart Studios.  It is from the Sea of Wonder.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Pile It On - Hot Fun in the Summer
   Whimsie Doodles - Summer Fun
Paper Take Weekly - Anything Goes
   Artistic Inspiration - Anything Goes

Have a great night.  See/chat with you tomorrow.

Similar but Different

Hello on this sunny Saturday.  What a nice day it has turned out to be?  I am playing inside right now and I plan to spend the late afternoon outside, once the heat starts letting up.

It is time for a similar but different card.  I saw this card several weeks ago and I just loved it.  Then I was reading on another site how you can use the Project Life fuse tool to make shaker cards.  I just had to buy one to try it.  It is the best thing ever for shaker cards.  No more thick cards.  You will be seeing more shaker cards (probably even another one today.)

My card is a little different.  I just used my Spellbinder Nestabilities to make the shaker part.  To make the actually shaker part, I used a 6X6 scrapbook page.  I put a seal down the middle and then used my nestabablities circle to seal the edges.  Once I had three sides sealed I added my beads and then sealed the top.  A great little shaker bag.  I will try to take pictures next time.

The crab is the crab from SVG Cutting Files' Crabby Box.  Originally, I cut him to big so now I have a big red crab to use for something else.   I put the mouth and nose on the crab using my PeachyKeen's Everyday Character Faces.  It was the 1 3/8" face.  His eyes are cut using my half inch punch and my hole punchers.  Before putting him together, I used my Tim Holtz's Distress Ink in Fired Brick to distress the edges.

I had to have some little fish to go under my shaker part, so I used the fish in the From The Heart's Fishing Birdbrain set.  I had to resize the fish, but that is easy to do with the Silhouette Designer Studio.

The two blue background papers were from Happy Hearts Studio.  This is a Etsy store and she has some of the best digital paper packs.  Most of them are only $1.50 (US dollars).  If you have a good print and are always looking for paper, you should check out her site.

I am going to use the card in the following challenges:
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
Clear It Out - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals - Under The Sea
Inky Impressions - 2 or more Dies

I will be later with something else new, I am sure.

Cut It Up Challenges

Hello and Happy Friday.

It is time for another Cut It Up Challenge.  The theme is Word! (use a word or sentiment as the focal point).  Don't forget to use a die some where on the project. The sponsor this time around is As Cute As a Button.  It is a great time to stock up on your buttons.

As you know, if you come by here often, I love taking scrapbook titles and making cards out of them.  Miss Kate's Cuttables has the best selection of titles.  I love how this one came out.  Instead of a chocolate cake, I used pink frosting (I don't like chocolate cake).  I added the gemstones to the work cake and added Winks of Stella on the words.

I hope to see you over at Cut It Up.  Have a great weekend.

Hedgie

Hello again.  While I was waiting on my sister to get home, I decided to play with one of the images, I printed and then didn't use.

This is the From The Heart Hedgehog I cut too big a couple of weeks ago.  It is just so cute.  The flower strip across the bottom of the card is reverse inking.  I actually inked what is normally embossed.  The color is more orange than I thought but I does work.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Suzy Bee's - Make It Floral
Your Next Stamp - Sketch #117
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
    Marker Pop - Anything Goes

I don't know if I will be back tonight or not.  It is almost 11:00pm.  Probably not, but you never know, I love to stay up late.

KaDoodle Bug

Hello.  I hope everyone is having a good afternoon.

I don't usually make Christmas in July cards.  Usually I am not ready to work on Christmas, but this is I was in the mood, so I got a card done for the Kadoodle Facebook challenge.   I just love this little bear hanging out of the window.  I did the Christmas tree differently.  I cut the tree branches out with my Martha Stewart punch and then added gemstones as the ornaments.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
KaDoodle Bug - Christmas In July
Chocolate Coffee & Cards - Red
Wags N Whiskers - More Than One Fold
Glitter N Sparkle - Anything Goes

Action Wobble

Hello.  It is another late night.  I am just not ready to go to bed.  But I am going soon.

There are still several red, white & blue challenges.  Which is good, because I didn't get to make every thing on my list.  Action Wobbles Challenges is one of those challenges.  I haven't entered one in a while and I thought this would be a perfect time.

I started cutting out my card and it suddenly dawned on me that I didn't have anything to put the wobble on.  I decided I would just cut the card anyway.  It is a title and if you come to my site often, you know I love converting titles into cards.

The flag didn't have a white back piece so I just glued the flag to some white scraps and cut around it.  I was able to add some 3d foam to the back of it and pop it up. I added glitter to the blue stars.  It's the 4th of July, the card needed some glitter.  When I started putting it together, I tried the wobble on the back of the first layer and it worked great.

I just love how this card came out.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Action Wobble - Red White & Blue
Miss Kate Facebook - Red White & Blue
Brown Sugar Challenges - Red White & Blue
613 Ave Create - Flag Colors

This is it for tonight.  Chat with you tomorrow.

Birthday

Hello.  I hope everyone is having a great day. I have had a migraine since yesterday, but I am feeling a little better so it was time to make a couple of cards.  I need some masculine birthday cards so that was the first thing I worked on.

I used an old technique on the card (inking up the inside of an embossing folder).  I love the look but I always forget about it.  I saw it on some one's card this week and decided I need to use it so I took my brayer out and set it on my desk so I wouldn't forget.  You will see me doing it again.  I also rounded the edge of my card.

The digital image is from Newton's Nook.  They have some really cute stamps.  I don't have any but I have several on my wishlist so you will be seeing them again.  I used one of their free images today.  I used green and blue to make the card masculine.  I think it will work for a couple of people on my birthday list.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Newton's Nook - Birthdays
   Fab N Funky - Birthdays
Paper Shelter - For The Boys
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
   Wednesday's Inspiration - Anything Goes

Off to eat a late lunch.  Chat with you later.

Summertime

Hello and Happy Sunday.  I worked today, but the day went quickly.  Lots of shoppers.

I have several summery images/stamps that I haven't played with so I pulled this digital image out of my From The Heart folder.   I wish I had printed the image a little bigger but this works.  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot.  I used the sketch from From The Heart also.  I thought the blue background paper could be either the ocean or the sky.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Simon Says Monday - Summer
   Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes #234
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes #40
From The Heart - Sketch #113
Just Add Ink - Colors Blue & Brown

I will probably back later with something else.  If not, have a great evening.
